Minuteman for Ross

Commercial Dispatch - Minuteman Project founder calls for tougher illegal immigration leadership - A group known as the Minuteman Project is touring the country this presidential primary season to remind voters of an issue they see as “critical to the future of America.” “The state of Mississippi alone reported a $30 million loss due to illegal immigrants last year,” said Jim Gilchrist, founder of the Minutemen project. “And the state auditor even told me he thought that figure was underestimated.” So far, Gilchrist has endorsed Republican presidential candidate hopeful Mike Huckabee and Mississippi 3rd Congressional District candidate Charlie Ross. “We are so adamant about illegal immigration because Congress will be losing a lot of leaders on this issue next year,” said Gilchrist. “I believe Ross will pick up the torch on the issue if he gets elected. I endorsed Huckabee because he has the most knowledge of and history with enforcing illegal immigration laws.”
