Letters for Harper

Clarion Ledger - Letter to the Editor - Gregg Harper best choice for 3rd District in Congress - The loss of Chip Pickering will create a significant void in our state's congressional delegation. He has represented us well and his departure will create some big shoes to fill. All the candidates for the 3rd District are good and decent men who would represent us well in Washington. However, Gregg Harper stands above the rest. In my 30-plus years of participation in the political process, I have never met a candidate who demonstrates more character and integrity than Gregg. The choice may seem difficult. However, if you desire a representative who is driven by compassion for others, who is a solid conservative and a man of great faith, then make Gregg Harper your choice. This is one decision you will not regret. - Bob Griffin, Brandon

ClarionLedger.com - Online Letter to the Editor - Harper running to serve - The person who occupies a seat in the House of Representatives more than anything else needs to be a servant. That is why I am supporting my long time friend Gregg Harper for the 3rd Congressional District. For Gregg Harper, being involved in helping others through the political process is more than giving money and voting. It is service, and he has been serving others through politics for years. In the 36 years I have known Gregg Harper he has always been involved in helping make life better for others, not just enriching himself. He knows that the House of Representatives is not a glamour position, and for Gregg Harper, it is not a stepping-stone to some other political prize down the road. It is a place where he can serve the needs of the people of Mississippi. I am proud to call Gregg Harper one of my oldest and dearest friends. I am even prouder to give my wholehearted support to his campaign to represent the 3rd Congressional District as our congressman. I urge you to give him your support, too. - Carl M. White, Meridian
