Sid Salter Blog - MSU 3rd District Debate cancelled due to inclement weather - The final 3rd Congressional District debate scheduled for tonight at Mississippi State University has been cancelled by the university due to the threat of severe weather.
The debate, the final in a series of four debates sponsored by MSU's Stennis Institute of Government and the Stennis-Montgomery Association, was to have featured eight of the nine candidates. Lydia Quarles, a spokesman for the Stennis Institute, said it was "unlikely" that that the event could be rescheduled.
The three prior debates took place in Summit, Pearl and Meridian.
